RESC:UE, LLC originally partnered with We CARE Solar (Women's Emergency Communication and Reliable Electricity), which was founded by Laura Stachel and Hal Aronson, to help build Solar Suitcases. These suitcases are plug and play energy systems that can provide a constant and reliable source of electricity to people in need. Originally, We CARE Solar sent these suitcases to African hospitals that were previously forced to perform C-sections by candle light at night and had no ability to use blood storage devices and other electronic equipment in their possession.
One solar electric system in a state hospital in Nigeria lowered the maternal mortality rate from 5 a month to less than 2 a month proving their worth. The solar suitcases are being placed in primary health care facilities and small hospitals, providing electricity where it is needed most.
RESC:UE, LLC is building these solar suitcases and they will continue being sent to tent clinics and small medical wards in Africa and other developing countries around the world. The solar suitcases are also being sent to places devastated by natural disasters including Haiti and Chile. Members of RESC:UE have already built over 45 of these solar suitcases which have been sent to help people all around the world. We are very happy to be partaking in such an amazing project that has such a large positive effect on the world.
